Upcoming 2024 Presidential Election

Now that we have talked about the election process and the electoral college, its time to talk about the upcoming election! We the people need to make our voice heard, and one of the best ways we can do that is by getting out there and voting! One of the biggest opportunities we have to vote is coming up on November 5, 2024, which is when we will have the opportunity to vote for our next US President. So today, I would like to share with you some information that may be helpful in preparing you for the upcoming election season.

As you all know, in each presidential election we start of with quite a large candidate pool in the two major parties and a medium sized third-party candidate pool. Here is what the candidate pool is looking like for the upcoming election so far. If you go to this link ( Who Are the 2024 Presidential Election Candidates? - The New York Times (nytimes.com)) and click the pictures you can get more info on each of the below:

Throughout 2024, this list will continue to be narrowed down through various presidential debates and presidential primaries. See here for an updated calendar of events. 2024 Presidential election calendar: Key dates and events | CNN Politics or 2024 Presidential Election Calendar: Primary, Caucus & Event Dates (nbcnews.com). Then in August of 2024, they will hold the Republican and Democratic National Conventions where each party will select their nominees for president and vice president. After which, the nominees will continue to campaign garners support and voters for the November 2024 election.

Some keep issues at hand in this upcoming election season are social security/Medicare, education, abortion (especially with the overturn of Roe v. Wade), foreign policy (this one is huge right now with all that is happening in Israel and Russia), LGBTQIA+ rights, and as always, the economy. I believe the economy and foreign policy will likely be the two biggest issues given all that is happening in the world and the high levels of inflation we are experiencing here in the US.

Comment below and share your thoughts on the upcoming election candidates and issues.

  1. I have been a fan of Ramaswamy ever since he said he would be entering the race. Him not being a lifetime politician is one of the main reasons I like him and think he would be a good fit for office. The United States saw some good from Trump being in office in terms of how he was running the country as a business, which it essentially is. Ramaswamy wants to take a businesslike approach to running the country just like he did at the companies he ran for years. Him being younger also adds to his appeal, he understands current issues that the younger voters are facing but also understands the needs of elder voters who are relying on social security checks to get by. A complete reworking of the system is what is needed and what Ramaswamy is saying that he wants to be the guy to do it, so hes got my vote

    1. Steven, thanks for taking the time to read and reply to my blog! Great perspective on Ramaswamy. I think his approach could have some definite benefits for our country, and I am looking forward to how he progresses in the election.
