GEN Z Engagement in the 2024 Election

GEN Z is the youngest generation who will be able to actively participate in the upcoming 2024 Presidential election. And, with this 2024 election fast approaching, candidates are campaigning and trying to garner votes from GEN Z all the way up. According to an article from Pew Research Center more than half of all voters in the recent 2020 election were age 50 and older. However, another report released by Pew Research also stated that in the upcoming election GEN Z will have "roughly 24 million will have the opportunity to cast a ballot in November." (Pew Research) (See article here: What We Know About Gen Z So Far | Pew Research Center) The question is, how will these candidates appeal to this younger generation to get them to come out to polls and cast their votes. 1. Gen Z is a big force and will play a major role in determining most elections. I also feel like Gen Z is really informed on politics and attempt to help inform others. It surprises me how engaged they've become. Most times when I see people canvassing or door-knocking, majority are always young students. As far as 2024, I feel like Gen Z is heavily influenced by a candidates stance on abortion and gun control, especially since most of them have been personally affected by mass shootings. I am highly interested in seeing how many voters will be Millennials and Gen Z in the 2024 election.
